Good morning, Steph here.
Have you played around with the Tim Holtz Distress Stains yet? These Stains are water based dyes with a dauber on top which allows you to add a little or a lot of color, depending on your project. They are so easy to use and create some fun water color effects on your paper. In addition to the Stains, I pulled some items I already had in the house - luggage tags, rope/twine and a brown lunch bag.
With the lunch bag laying flat on your table, ink the edges of the bag lightly with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink.
Cut a piece of white or cream cardstock a little smaller than the front of the bag.
Using several colors of Distress Stains, apply the Stains directly to the cardstock until the cardstock is completely covered.
Using a Mini Mister, spritz the cardstock and move the cardstock so that the colors move around.
Continue spritzing and moving the paper until you like the effect.
Once dry, ink a large background stamp with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink and apply to the cardstock.
Using an inking tool, add Rusty Hinge Distress Ink around the cardstock.
Using Black Soot Distress Ink, stamp a pattern in both corners and stamp a sentiment in the middle.
Stamp the pumpkin with Memento Black Ink, add black embossing powder and then heat set.
Once cooled, cut out the image and apply it to bag with dimensional adhesives.
Tie a string around the top of the bag and then adhere this piece to the bag.
To create the tags:
Using several colors of Distress Stains, apply the Stains directly to the tags until the tags are fully covered.
Using a Mini Mister, spritz the tags and move the tags so that the colors move around.
Continue spritzing until you like the effect.
Using Black Soot Distress Ink, stamp assorted patterns and sentiments on the tags.
To change the color of the ribbon, I inked the ribbon with Aged Mahogany and Spiced Marmalade Distress Stains, squashed the ribbon, spritzed it with water and let it dry. Once dry, the ribbon took on a crinkled look which mirrored the look of the bag and tags.
